What a fantastic day with perfect weather and even better company! We kicked off our adventure around 11 AM, making our way from Clifton Springs to St Leonard’s at a leisurely pace.
Our first stop was Jack Rabbit, where we successfully caught half a dozen squid. After that, we headed just under Prince George, reeling in a good number there as well. Our last squid stop was at the Red Stick in St Leonard’s, adding another half dozen to our haul. In total, we landed 21 squid! Interestingly, Cara, who initially struggled, ended up catching the majority—thanks to a WIRFAB jig that you’ll see featured in our TV episode!
We then anchored to target King George Whiting and had a successful outing, managing to catch 36, with some measuring around 40 cm.
On our way back, we stopped at the old channel for a quick break and a few donuts, but things were a bit slow there. We anticipate that it’ll pick up in just a few days.
Cheers!
