2021 April 25th – Fishing St Leonards with old man JJ

Sunday – St Leonards 6m – from 12-2.30pm I was fishing with old man JJ and Jerry.
We had a slow start, but pretty quick turned to be a great fishing session. We bagged out in less then 2 hours. Old Man JJ was with us and, after quiet few months not being on the water, He was one very happy fisherman. Both rigs – patternoster and Reedy’s Tinganoster did the damage. At one stage JJ was getting doubles. Pilchard again the key. As per picture, very small fillet (cubes) of pilchard in cocktail with squdi just worked great.
Underwater, lots of Tommy Ruff and Yakka’s. We got few Yakka’s as well but when the KGW was on, it was one after another. JJ managed a nice flatty as well.
We Left by 2.45pm, quick stop at Prince George and got 7 squid. The squid was quiet small. Then, i wanted to check the Portarlington old channel. Lots of Pinky’s – no one keeper, and quiet a lot of Rock cod there atm.
By 5pm, we where at the boat ramp.
Cheers, Happy Fisherman
