2020 Oct 20 – Fishing Port Phillip Bay

More Catch-ups
After bad start Monday morning as my engine tilt would not work, thanks to Mic’s marine I was ready to go out today. Left Werribee around 7nish and went strait to Prince George. It was quiet slow and we only got 2 squid.
As we couldn’t go to StLeonatds as it was out of the 25km from my home, we cut in towards deep water. Fished 20m depth, but only flattys, and, as usual Mima finds slimys just 4-5m below the surface. No Snapper or Gummy even when we check the underwater camera when we got home. But, tons of flattys everywhere.
Then we took of towards RAAF base, and in no time we bagged out on squid. By 1pm- we where at the ramp.
As I drove the boat on the trailer, the freaking roller breaks and scratches the hull. MF. Everything has gone stupid with the boat as it was just sitting there. I was starting it regularly, but that was not enough. Tyres have gone down a bit so – apparently I should move the boat from time to time. Trim the engine from time to time. All this stuff that I never considered before.
All in all good day out!
For the record – I did make a call to DHS and
It is 25km from your home radius even on the water
It is allowed to have the wife and kids on the boat
And, you are allowed to take a friend on your boat but since different house hold you both must where masks.
Make sure your friend does not have on his license address 24km from the ramp. That would allow you 1km to anchor.
I don’t know who makes this rules but I’m sure they IQ is one digit!
A simple logic would say – if you Melbourne metro under restrictions 4 – you can fish PPB and not regional Victoria. Ok, no politics please. Let’s just hope for better times
And last- I set new burley bucket for my GoPro and it is fantastic! Great underwater footage that I will post later
Cheers, happy fisherman
