2019 Aug 27th - Fishing Westernport - Rhyll

Tuesday -27th aug – Rhyll. Early morning we launched at Stony Point in chase for some early snapper. Well, no every trip has just happy moments, but that’s life. First when i filled up the tank i did not realize i got charged at BP $1.69 per liter when everywhere else is $1.25. I didn’t care, i was going fishing! That was nothing compare to what happens later. We got to the spot at Rhyll 2 hours before high tide and immediately on to yakka’s and big Barracouta’s. Then, big bend on the silver whiting and massive head bangs. Lasted 30 seconds and the line got clean cut above the swivel. I don’t know what happend but I do assume was Barracouta went for my swivel. As it started, the big seal and lots of seagull all around the boat. No boats around, so I had to move and try to shake them of. I came back in an hour, seal was gone but the birds followed. Then, we got some more Yakka’s and Coutta’s, a puppy gummy, and a big Diamond ray. So what’s the BAD LUCK? Freaking seagul was on the water right next to my engine. As i got up to check my bait, he got scared and tangles the bride line with a new Shimano STRADIC 4000FA, and beautiful Okuma rod. Enough lift, to drop out of the rod holder and GONE! $500 later, I’m still a happy fisherman. Cheers
