2019 April 20th - Squid

Marathon day! We left Werribee at 6 am and went to Mt. Martha. After 2 hours of trying, scanning, moving around- we got nothing. Then we moved to mud island and action was very slow. Even flattys and banjos where slow. We managed few slimmys and yakkas, but that was it. Around 1pm me decided to chase squid. We stopped at mud island spot and got only few small one. Then we start going back and stopped at Prince George ground, and in less then one hour we had 29 between 3 of us, including a nice cuttle fish and one monster squid. Then, we spend another hour to get the number 30 for a full bag, funny enough, we didn’t get him. We moved to Portarlington old channel and decided to see what is going on. Millions of pinky’s. In between we got one leather jacket, few kgw’s, a red mullet and that was it. By 6.30pm, after we did 360 and 110km we got out. Cheers from happy fisherman.
