2019 Dec 23rd -Fishing St Leonards

Left Werribee at 4.30 am towards StLeonards with My friend Arlen and his son Ayden. We had a quick stop at Prince George to try for squid, but no luck. At St Leonard’s we managed few KGW – (quiet small- just over 30cm), but there was a lot of pinky’s and other small fish that was stealing our bait. We got few Yakkas and Tommy Rough there as well. Then we head of to Portarlington and tried for snapper. We had an hour before tide change and the pinky’s around 1 kg and bigger where on. We managed five, and as the tide changed they stopped. The pinky’s we got where mainly on the snell rig with cubes of pilchard on it – weightless. In meantime we got few slimmy mackerel and more yakkas. All in all the boys had fun. By 2.30pm we where on the way back. Poor little Ayden did fall a sleep as from excitement that uncle Tibby is going to take him fishing, he couldn’t sleep last night. That’s all from my side.
Cheers – happy fisherman
